New home entertainment titles releasing Dec. 3 include Alien: Romulus, The Wild Robot, Watchmen: Chapter II, Never Let Go, The Outrun, The Dead Don’t Hurt and The Forge on disc, while digital releases include Juror #2.
Disney-owned 20th Century Studios releases the sci-fi horror thriller Alien: Romulus on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD disc Dec. 3. A limited-edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbook also is available. The film, directed by Fede Alvarez, is the seventh entry in the standalone “Alien” franchise (not including the two “Alien vs. Predator” films). Set between the events of the 1979 original Alien and its 1986 sequel Aliens, Alien: Romulus follows a group of downtrodden space colonists who encounter the hostile creatures while scavenging a derelict space station. The cast includes Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. Alvarez wrote the screenplay with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues, based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett. Ridley Scott — who directed the original Alien and the series entries Prometheus and Alien: Covenant — serves as producer with Michael Pruss and Walter Hill. DreamWorks Animation’s The Wild Robot will be available on 4K UHD and Blu-ray Dec. 3 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. An adaptation of Peter Brown’s No. 1 New York Times best-seller, The Wild Robot is an epic adventure staring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o (Us, the “Black Panther” franchise) as Roz, a robot that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must adapt to the harsh surroundings. Gradually Roz starts building relationships with the animals on the island, including a clever fox voiced by Pedro Pascal (“The Last of Us,” “The Mandalorian”), and becomes the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling named Brightbill voiced by Kit Connor (Ready Player One, Heartstopper). The supporting voice cast includes Catherine O’Hara (“Schitt’s Creek,” Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Rango), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fall Guy), Mark Hamill (“Star Wars” franchise), Matt Berry (“The IT Crowd,” “What We Do in the Shadows”) and Ving Rhames (“Mission Impossible” franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2). Showcasing music by Emmy and Grammy nominated composer and Oscar winner Kris Bowers, the film also boasts two original songs by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and music sensation Maren Morris. The film earned $142.5 million at the domestic box office.
Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment will release the animated movie Watchmen: Chapter II on Blu-ray and 4K disc Dec. 3. The film continues the adaptation of the famed 1986-87 comic book published by DC, written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons that explores what the world of the Cold War would look like had superheroes and masked vigilantes actually existed. The voice cast includes Matthew Rhys as Nite Owl, Katee Sackhoff as Silk Spectre, Titus Welliver as Rorschach, Troy Baker as Ozymandias, Adrienne Barbeau as Sally Jupiter, Corey Burton as Captain Metropolis, Michael Cerveris as Dr. Manhattan, Jeffrey Combs as Moloch, John Marshall Jones as Hooded Justice and Rick D. Wasserman as The Comedian, plus Kari Wahlgren, Grey Griffin, Max Koch, Phil LaMarr, Yuri Lowenthal, Geoff Pierson, Jason Spisak, Zehra Fazal, Phil Fondacaro and Long Nguyen. The film is produced and directed by Brandon Vietti from an adaptation by J. Michael Straczynski. Jim Krieg and Cindy Rago serve as producers and Dave Gibbons serves as consulting producer. Sam Register, Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin are executive producers.
Lionsgate will release the horror thriller Never Let Go on Blu-ray combo pack and DVD on Dec. 3. Executive produced by and starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry and directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Crawl), the psychological horror-thriller follows a mother (Berry) and her twin sons who find their only protection is their house and their deep-rooted family bond as an evil takes over the world beyond their front doorstep. Needing to stay connected at all times — even tethering themselves with ropes — they urge each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival.
The Saoirse Ronan drama The Outrun will be released on DVD Dec. 3 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. In The Outrun, after a decade away in London, 29-year-old Rona (Ronan) returns home to the Orkney Islands of Scotland. Sober but lonely, she tries to suppress her memory of the events which set her on this journey of recovery. Slowly, the mystical land enters her inner world and — one day at a time — Rona finds hope and strength in herself among the heavy gales and the bracingly cold sea.
Shout! Studios Dec. 3 releases on Blu-ray Disc the “subversive Western” The Dead Don’t Hurt, written and directed by Viggo Mortensen. The Dead Don’t Hurt follows a pair of star-crossed lovers on the western frontier in the 1860s. Vivienne Le Coudy (Vicky Krieps) is a fiercely independent woman who gets into a relationship with Danish immigrant Holger Olsen (Mortensen). After meeting Olsen in San Francisco, she agrees to travel with him to his home near the small town of Elk Flats, Nev., where they start a life together. The outbreak of the Civil War separates them when Olsen decides to fight for the Union. This leaves Vivienne to fend for herself in a place controlled by corrupt Mayor Rudolph Schiller (Danny Huston) and his business partner, the unscrupulous rancher Alfred Jeffries (Garret Dillahunt). Alfred’s violent son Weston (Solly McLeod) aggressively pursues Vivienne. When Olsen returns from the war, he and Vivienne must confront and make peace with the person each has become.
Sony Pictures Entertainment will release The Forge, the latest film from the Kendrick brothers, on DVD and Blu-ray Disc Dec. 3. A Christian drama about a misguided teen who charts a new course in life after finding God, The Forge is already available through digital retailers for purchase or rent. In the film, Isaiah Wright has some growing up to do. A year out of high school with no plans for his future, he is challenged by his single mom and a successful businessman to start charting a better course for his life. Through the biblical discipleship from his new mentor, prayers of his mother and a prayer warrior named Miss Clara, Isaiah begins to discover God’s purpose for his life is so much more than he could hope for or imagine.
Juror #2, the legal thriller from Academy Award winning director Clint Eastwood, arrives for premium digital purchase and rental Dec. 3 from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Eastwood directs from a screenplay by Jonathan Abrams (Escape Plan). The film stars Nicholas Hoult (upcoming Superman, The Menu), Oscar nominee Toni Collette (upcoming Mickey 17, The Sixth Sense), Oscar winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), and Kiefer Sutherland (“Designated Survivor,” “24”), and also features Chris Messina (Air, Based on a True Story), Gabriel Basso (“The Night Agent”), Zoey Deutch (“The Politician,” Zombieland: Double Tap), Cedric Yarbrough (Unfrosted), Leslie Bibb (“Palm Royale,” Tag), Amy Aquino (“Bosch”) and Adrienne C. Moore (“Orange Is the New Black”). Juror #2 follows family man Justin Kemp (Hoult) who, while serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma…one he could use to sway the jury verdict and potentially convict — or free — the accused killer. It arrives on Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 4.
Shout! Studios releases the holiday film Marry Christmas Dec. 3 through digital retailers. The film stars Joey Lawrence, Matthew Lawrence, Donna Lawrence, and Andrew Lawrence, who also directed the film. The film revolves around the Wright brothers, who unwittingly schedule weddings for the same day. A sibling rivalry ensues for the right to wed their brides on Christmas. After a disastrous road trip mandated by their fiancés, the brothers come together to celebrate what is most important, family.
Lionsgate Dec. 3 releases Exhibiting Forgiveness on digital platforms. In visual artist Titus Kaphar’s directorial debut, André Holland (Moonlight) plays Tarrell, an admired American painter whose path to success is derailed by an unexpected visit from his estranged father, La’Ron (John Earl Jelks), a conscience-stricken man trying to reconcile. Tarrell is desperate to protect his wife Aisha (Andra Day) and son from the anguish of his childhood, but Tarrell’s spiritual mother (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor) hopes he can open his heart to forgiving La’Ron, giving them all another chance at being a family. Together, father and son learn that forgetting the past is as challenging as forgiving.
Paramount Home Entertainment Dec. 3 releases Paw Patrol: Rescue Wheels, the latest DVD collection of 10 episodes from Nickelodeon’s “Paw Patrol” animated series. Together, tech-savvy Ryder, the Paw Patrol pups and their new highly-skilled pup pal Roxi, set out to stop Boomer and save Adventure Bay with the help of their new rescue wheels. Dec. 3 sees the release of four more Disney+ original series as 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbooks — two from Marvel Studios and two from Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars.” As with previous Disney+ Steelbooks, each is packaged with box art designed by popular artist Attila Szarka and collectible concept art cards. The four titles will be the first Disney+ Originals to include 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision along with Atmos audio.
In Star Wars: The Mandalorian — The Complete Third Season, the journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.

Severin Films has announced the Dec. 3 North American release of the award-winning documentary Scala!!! or, The Incredibly Strange Rise and Fall of the World’s Wildest Cinema and How It Influenced a Mixed-Up Generation of Weirdos and Misfits in a three-disc Blu-ray collection with hours of special features curated exclusively for the boxed set. Between the politically volatile years of 1978 to 1993, London’s most infamous repertory movie theater/pleasure dome screened more than 4,000 mind-warping films that influenced a generation of remarkable writers, musicians, filmmakers, actors, artists and activists. Co-directors Jane Giles and Ali Catterall now reveal the incredible true story of The Scala Cinema featuring rare archival footage, dozens of film clips from Scala favorites and interviews with former Scala audience members, guests and staff that include John Waters, Ben Wheatley, Jah Wobble, Cathi Unsworth, Mary Harron, Kim Newman, Nick Kent, Isaac Julien, Matt Johnson and more. Paramount Home Entertainment releases the sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest on 4K Ultra HD for the first time Dec. 3 for its 25th anniversary. In the film, years after cancellation, the stars of the television series “Galaxy Quest” cling to their careers. When a distressed interstellar race mistakes the show for “historical documents,” lead actor Jason Nesmith (Tim Allen) and his crew of has-beens are unwittingly recruited to save the alien race from a genocidal warlord. The film also stars Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, Daryl Mitchell, Justin Long and Rainn Wilson. Galaxy Quest is available in a nationwide release and a limited-edition Steelbook, both of which offer access to a digital copy of the film and more than 90 minutes of new and legacy bonus content.
The epic Western drama Legends of the Fall, with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, will be released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Dec. 3 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Legends of the Fall follows three brothers bound by loyalty, tested by war and torn apart by love. Pitt stars as Tristan, the wildest of the Ludlow sons, whose failure to protect his brother puts his entire family on a path of betrayal and self-destruction. From the battlefields of Europe to the farthest reaches of civilization, Legends of the Fall traces Tristan’s turbulent journey from boyhood to manhood to legend. The film, directed by Edward Zwick, also stars Hopkins, Aidan Quinn, Julia Ormond and Henry Thomas. The new SPHE release has the film scanned from the original camera negative and presented in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos + 5.1 DTS-HD MA sound.
Available Dec. 3 on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray from the Criterion Collection is 1984’s Paris, Texas, written by Sam Shepard and directed by Wim Wenders. The film follows the mysterious, nearly mute drifter Travis (Harry Dean Stanton) as he tries to reconnect with his young son, living with his brother (Dean Stockwell) in Los Angeles, and his missing wife (Nastassja Kinski). The presentation includes a new 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by Wenders, with a 5.1 surround DTS-HD master audio soundtrack The combo pack includes a 4K disc of the film presented in Dolby Vision HDR, and a regular Blu-ray of the film with bonus materials.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release The Swan Princess: The Royal Collection, a limited-edition DVD set, on Dec. 3. The limited edition set includes 12 animated features: The Swan Princess; The Swan Princess and the Secret of the Castle; The Swan Princess: The Mystery of the Enchanted Treasure; The Swan Princess Christmas; The Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale; The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today!; The Swan Princess Royally Undercover; The Swan Princess: A Royal Myzstery; The Swan Princess: Kingdom of Music; The Swan Princess: A Royal Wedding; The Swan Princess: A Fairy Tale Is Born; and The Swan Princess: Far Longer Than Forever. All 12 features are presented in standard definition with anamorphic widescreen and English 5.1 Dolby Digital audio. The set includes sing-along special features and a limited edition musical jewelry box for ages 7 and older.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, Focus Features and Studiocanal have partnered with director Edgar Wright to remaster Shaun of the Dead in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound to honor the film’s 20th anniversary. The remastered version of the 2004 zombie comedy will be released Dec. 3 on digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, including a limited-edition Steelbook, with a new bonus piece featuring Wright and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Hours of existing bonus will also be made available for the first time on participating digital platforms, including Apple TV, Movies Anywhere, and Fandango at Home. In the film, when flesh-eating zombies are on the hunt for a bite to eat, it’s up to slacker Shaun (Pegg) and his best pal Ed (Frost) to save their friends and family from becoming the next entrée.
Paramount Home Entertainment will release a 30th Anniversary 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc collector’s edition of director Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction Dec. 3. The release includes extensive legacy bonus content and access to a digital copy of the film in a collectible premium slipcase, a new slipcover with pop-up artwork, lobby card reproductions, a photography select sheet, and decals. The cast includes John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer, Maria de Medeiros, Ving Rhames, Eric Stoltz, Rosanna Arquette, Christopher Walken and Bruce Willis.
