Three films of Hong Kong cinema, Hong Kong, Hong Kong, An Amorous Woman of Tang Dynasty, and The Lady Is the Boss, are being released on Blu-ray Disc March 25 from 88 Films and MVD Entertainment Group.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong (1983) is a social realist drama following two lovers dreaming of a better life. Man Si Sun (Cherie Chung, An Autumn’s Tale) is an illegal immigrant from the mainland while Kong Yuen Sang (Alex Man, Rich and Famous) is looking for glory in the kick-boxing ring. Showing a world beyond the city’s skyscrapers and millionaires, Clifford Choi’s film won Best Screenplay at the prestigious Golden Horse awards, and was nominated for many others. Special features include a limited edition O-ring; a stills gallery; a trailer; and a limited-edition set of four collectors art cards.

One of the last films produced at Hong Kong’s legendary Shaw Brothers studio, An Amorous Woman of Tang Dynasty (1984) is an erotically charged story of a free-spirited female poet Yu (Patricia Ha, Nomad) who, frustrated by the conservative times in which she lives, refuses to behave in the ways nice young ladies are supposed to. Despite plentiful clothes-off action, this is much more than a soft-core “romp,” boasting an artistic ambition that Shaw Brothers didn’t always show in their kung fu movies. Directed by Eddie Fong Ling-ching, this is one of the major films from Hong Kong’s Golden Age. Special features include a limited edition O-ring; a stills gallery; a trailer; and a limited-edition set of four collectors art cards.

The Lady Is the Boss (1983) is a culture-clash comedy — with kung fu. In the film, a thoroughly Americanized young woman (Kara Hui, The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter) returns to Hong Kong to visit the martial arts school founded by her father and shakes it up with some trendy new ideas. But not everyone is keen on her innovations, a lesson she’ll have to learn the hard way. Directed by and starring Lau Kar-leung (The Shadow Boxing), The Lady Is the Boss blends fun and fighting as only he could. Special features include a limited edition O-ring; a stills gallery; a trailer; and a limited-edition set of four collectors art cards.

The comedy Delicatessen, the horror film Antiviral and the horror collection Fear in the Philippines: The Complete Blood Island Films will be released on disc March 25 from MVD Entertainment Group and Severin Films.

From co-writers/directors Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie) and Marc Caro (The City of Lost Children) and producer Claudie Ossard (Betty Blue) comes the dystopian fable Delicatessen — nominated for 10 César Awards — about odd jobs and strange neighbors, circus stars and troglodytes, fresh meat and true love. The film, starring Dominique Pinon (Diva), Jean-Claude Dreyfus (A Very Long Engagement) and Howard Vernon (The Awful Dr. Orloff), will be available on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Disc, restored in 4K from the original camera negative by StudioCanal under the supervision of Jeunet, with more than three hours of new and archival special features curated exclusively for this edition. Extras include audio commentary with co-director Jean-Pierre Jeunet; an interview with co-directors Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro; “Fine Cooked Meats — The Making of Delicatessen“; “Copains Comme Cochons,” an interview with co-director Marc Caro; “The Tale of ‘Terry Gilliam Presents Delicatessen,’” an interview With Terry Gilliam; and the trailer.

Available on 4K Ultra HD for the first time is Antiviral, the award-winning debut feature by writer/director Brandon Cronenberg. In the film, Syd March (Caleb Landry Jones of “Twin Peaks: The Return” and Get Out) is a top sales representative for The Lucas Clinic, which harvests exclusive infections from celebrities for injection into obsessed fans. But in a near future consumed by the possibilities of biological communion, will Syd himself pay a horrific price for the toxicity of fame? Sarah Gadon (Cosmopolis) and Malcolm McDowell co-star in the film, scanned in 4K from the 35mm protection internegative supervised by Brandon Cronenberg and cinematographer Karim Hussain (Infinity Pool) with three hours of new and archival special features. Extras include audio commentary with writer/director Brandon Cronenberg and director of photography Karim Hussain; “Broken Tulips,” a short film written and directed by Brandon Cronenberg; “Anatomy of a Virus,” a making-of featurette; “Reviving a Dead Cell,” in which Brandon Cronenberg and Karim Hussain discuss the restoration; “Brandon Cronenberg: A First-Time Director’s Vision”; deleted scenes with optional commentary by Brandon Cronenberg and Karim Hussain; the first meeting with actors Caleb Landry Jones and Sarah Gadon; “The Design of Antiviral,” an interview with production designer Arvinder Greywal; “Manufacturing Celebrity,” EPK with cast and crew; and the trailer.

Between 1959 and 1971, Filipino filmmakers Eddie Romero and Gerry de Leon — along with Hemisphere Pictures marketing consultant Samuel M. Sherman — unleashed a monsters-and-mayhem quartet that remains among the most schlocky horror classics of all time. The four-feature collection is available on two discs on Blu-ray in Fear in the Philippines: The Complete Blood Island Films. The series launched with Terror Is a Man, a take on Island of Dr. Moreau starring Francis Lederer (The Return of Dracula). Also included is Brides of Blood, starring John Ashley (The Twilight People) and Beverly Powers (Speedway) in a taboo-smashing orgy of violence, nudity and depraved nuptials. Ashley and Angelique Pettyjohn (The Curious Female) star in Mad Doctor of Blood Island. Beast of Blood, newly scanned from a 35mm print by the Library of Congress, stars Ashley and Celeste Yarnall (The Velvet Vampire). All four films have been scanned uncut in 4K with improved color and audio and include more than eight combined hours of special features.
